Super hospitality and comfort

Everything else was perfect. Yiem's food is delicious and her hospitality is second to none. She made us feel so relaxed and at ease during our stay. Diem even organised our transport to Hue. She gave us tips for places to go. All of the people around her homestay are lovely, we shared great stories with her friend Dave who stays there. The compost toilet is mentioned in previous reviews. It is different to what we were used to but didn't impact negatively on our stay. Yiem really cares about the environment.

Nested in the middle of an authentic and charming countryside, the homestsay is very well integrated. The design is simple and elegant set up in a very good taste. The host miss Diem do everything to please your stay with talent... just perfect... last but not least the food is just delicious...

Great stay

Great place to stay, absolutely recommended. Very close to the National Park, amazing location and amazing people. You are really looked after in this beautiful stay, the owner was incredibly helpful and gave us good advices on activities. On a last note, the food here was delicious, don’t miss out on the soup for breakfast.

Magical little place

Diem is the consummate hostess. In every single regard Diem took care of our families. We were a family of 5 traveling with 3 children ages 8, 11 and 13 as well as another couple. The food was spectacular, the tours recommend by Diem phenomenal. The rooms are sparsely decorated but very clean and comfortable. There was not one aspect of our stay that Diem did not take care of, she anticipated every need, even going out of her way to prepare special requests for our daughter who was arrived sick the first night. We can't recommend highly enough Pepperhouse Homestay.

The perfect place to experience a more local homestay and...

The perfect place to experience a more local homestay and for those who are looking for relaxation in an area closer to nature and rural life. Very very quiet place sometimes even feels excluded. Diem is a wonderful host. Very attentive and always there (: Bonus. The shower is super comfy and nice.

Too Little lights in the bathroom. The toilets are not very comfortable.

A perfect homestay if you want to relax, enjoy the countryside and experience local community life

The owner provided us with a few tips for local food places to try and all were great. In particular Moi Moi, a 2 k bike ride from the homestay was a wonderful experience ( check reviews online) . The homestay was in a quiet picturesque setting a few K's out of Phong Nha and well worth the easy bike ride into town ( old style bikes there for your use) The space was inviting and the room very comfortable although as we expected the bed was quite firm. Beautiful bathroom and the best shower ever! This place was so relaxing and the host is helpful, interesting and inspiring. Diem is a great cook so evening meals at the homestay were a joy. She also arranged for a driver to take us sightseeing and to drop us at the train. Nothing was too much trouble. We rate this place highly.

We had an awesome stay at Pepperhouse.

We had an awesome stay at Pepperhouse. Diem was a fantastic host. We arrived in the afternoon and she had put beers in front of us as soon as we had dropped our bags. This was followed by a delicious homemade chicken curry. We met some great people chatting by the pool including Diem's Aussie husband Multi. The room was spacious and comfortable but the stay was made by Diem's (and Multi's) hospitality and chats. She set us up with bicycles into town and gave advice on which cave tour to take. She fed us every night at extremly reasonable prices and beer and conversation flowed. Diem is a fantastic cook. I highly recommend Pepperhouse - you are made so welcome and learn so much about rural life in Phong Nha. We would definetly stay again. Thanks for the complimentary bag of pepper and taste of rice wine

Such a wonderful experience.

Such a wonderful experience. Stay at least a week if you can. It’s a beautiful area to explore, and Yin’s cooking is the best Vietnamese food I’ve tasted. She was such a generous host!

Loved staying with Yim. A wonderful place for rest and for exploring while based in the countryside.

Loved staying with Yim, our friendly host. A wonderful place for rest and for exploring while based in the countryside. Enjoyed using scooters and bikes to head off into town or into the park. Yim's meals were some of the best we had in Vietnam and her iced vietnamese coffees the strongest and most flavoursome. Lovely comfortable rooms, stylish. Appreciated chatting with Yim and getting good ideas. She arranged a very good driver to take us south also. A great place away from the bustle and in country surroundings.
